during university highdelberg times I had a student friend who worked in Benz Mannheim on semester hollidays

since c.1960 family members & me visited the eberbach bergrennen at the so-called volvo curve, where abarth, abt, sepp greger, jochen maas, stirling moss, gerd schüler, hans stuck sen. and many others drove.

after the race the pilots rested in eberbach and lindach hotels arriving and leaving with the roaring racingcars

Remembering well there were always some mercedes benz cars (220 engines) amongst the competitors.

in the early sixties I admired the white 220SE limousine owned by a relative businessman Jakob Volz from mannheim who spent weekends in lindach and dielbach since WWII times.

in 1968 I went on weekend dancing with my american Chicago girl-friend & a Mosbach german friend, Klaus Noe in his old black

in 1969 I sometimes was on the neckartal weekend road with my friend Walter Torsiglieri (+2005) & Franz Thüringer in his white 280SL Cabriolet

in the late sixties german chancellor adenauer passed our home on B 37 in his black MB 600 pullman staatskarosse after having visited eberbach

in the early seventies I made some tours with a Mosbach friend , Gerd Denninger, in his red 190SL sportster cabriolet

in the 1990s I drove my own olive-green 280TE stagewaggon

this car was used on antiquarian auction sales business tours from everbeach to

amsterdam (bubb kuyper haarlem).berlin (grewe hauff jeschke meinke van vliet).

baden-baden (sotheby's).bern (kornfeld).braunschweig (brandes).bruxelles (simonson).dresden (neumeister).geneve (gabus).

hamburg (hauswedell & nolte / dörling / ketterer kunst / henner wachholtz).heidelberg (winterberg).köln (lempertz.venator & hanstein).königstein (reiss & auvermann).

last year I accompanied a friend in his powerful new 320 diesel limousine to Switzerland

since 2009 and my knowledge about super cars & tour alpina I recognized the actual power of modern high-tech Benz sportscar engines.
