Hand-colored lithographs on paper, sheet sizes to 10 1/2 x 8 1/8 in. (26.6 x 20.5 cm),unmatted, unframed. Condition: One with a tear, some with staining, sheets trimmed to slightly different sizes. N.B. The book from which these lithographs have come has not been identified, although a reference was found at WorldCat.org for the following: Lenghi, G. (n.d.). Peintures de Pompei. Place of publication not identified: publisher not identified. Estimate $600-800 No. 26 has 1 in. tear and large stain to left edge that , No. 73 has spotting and stains in margins, No. 50 damp stained along bottom, No. 7 is trimmed close to image area (sheet 9 3/8 x 6 1/4 in.) Ink inscriptions on the reverse are in an old-fashioned script, and the titles are written in Italian. FRÄNKISCHER TAG TORSTEN RENNER MUSEUM BANZ Fasziniert von der Welt des Museums Kloster Banz PORTRÄT Der Archäologe Torsten Renner hat nach eigener Aussage seinen Traumjob angetreten. Jetzt will er seinen Arbeitsort in Banz bekannter machen Wissenschaftlich konservatorische Arbeit sollte dabei stets im Mittelpunkt stehen. Objektbewahrung und-erforschung sowie Dokumentation und Kommunikation des Sammlungsbestandes stünden dabei mit der Konzeption von Sonderausstellungen im Einklang. Um das Potential des Museums weiter auszubauen , strebt Renner die Kooperation mit anderen Museen und Einrichtungen an. Durch eine Stellenausschreibung war er auf die vakante Stelle in Banz aufmerksam geworden und hatte sich bei der Hanns-Seidel-Stiftung beworben. Persönlich sei er sehr glücklich über seine neue Arbeitsstelle. Von Berlin aus kehre er gerne nach Franken zurück. Banz sei zudem ein Standort, der immer einen wichtigen Bezugspunkt in seinem Leben darstellte. STUDIUM DER KLASSISCHEN ARCHÄOLOGIE Torsten Renner ist Klassischer Archäologe. Er absolvierte am Institut für Klassische Archäologie der Freien Universität (FU) Berlin den entsprechenden Bachelor-und Masterstudiengang. Neben dem Schwerpunktstudium belegte er am Ägyptologischen Seminar der FU den Studiengang Ägyptische Archäologie. Seine Promotion erfolgte im Rahmen eines strukturierten Promotionsprogrammes der der berlin Graduate School of Ancient Studies. Die Verteidigung seinesr Doktorarbeit ist im Spätsommer 2023 angesetzt. In Banz möchte Torsten Renner unter anderem die Sammlungsbestände aus dem Depot wissenschaftlich und kuratorisch aufarbeiten. Er spricht davon, Banz zu einem Wissensstandort werden zu lassen, zu einem Ort der Wissensbildung im Bereich der Paläontologie. Es gebe in Banz einen unglaublichen Fundus an Objekten, die für die Öffentlichkeit bislang verborgen im Depot lagern. - die Sammlung hat großes wissenschaftliches Potential. Die kuratorische Leitung des Museums Kloster Banz mit dessen historischer Sammlungskozeption der Petrefaktensammlung ( Fossiliensammlung) und der Orientalischen Sammlung bite ihm eine großartige berufliche Option sowie Praxiserfahrung im Museumsmangement, fährt er fort. Insbesondere die mit seiner Stelle verbundenen vielfältigen Aufgaben wie auch die die interdiziplinäre Schnittstelle zwischen Wissenschaft und Bildung am Bildungszentrum Kloster Banz bildeten dabei ein entscheidendes Kriterium für seine Bewerbung. Der Ichtyosaurus ist einzigartiges Objekt Eines der signifikanntesten Objekte in Banz ist für Torsten Renner der 1842 bei Unnersdorf gefundene Kopf eines Ichthyosauriers (Thecodontosaurus) aus der Zeit des Unterjura (vor 201 bis 190 Millionen Jahren). 'Neben der Größe des Objektes mit ca. 2,10 Metern ist es meiner Ansicht nach der nahezu dreidimensionale Erhaltungszustand, der dieses Objekt für das Museumspublikum so einzigartig werden lässt.' Außerdem richte er seinen Blick auf die 1838/1839 von Herzog Max in Bayern gegründete Orientalische Sammlung , kündigt er an. Sowohl die Objekte als auch die Sammlungsgeschichte sowie die damit einhergehende historische Präsentation mit ihrem kultur-und gattunsübergreifendem Bestand stelle einen weiteren Höhepunkt der Banzer Exponate dar.
