Chez Naudet M(archan)d d'Estampes au Louvre Sieur Naudet, dit « Naudet père », graveur et marchand d'estampes établi à Paris, « au colonnade du Louvre », peut-être dès avant 1780, qui signait ses productions au dos des épreuves. Fragonard Sp.~ AParis chez Naudet Md D'Estampes Port au Blé Frits Lugt in “Les Marques de Collections de Dessins & d’Estampes” (Fondation Custodia) offers the following information regarding this collector: (transl.) “NAUDET (circa 1800), printmaker, established in the Louvre, Paris. […] Naudet is the printmaker who figures among the guests of the “Meal given on March 7, 1806 by the Mds d'Estampes de Paris, to their Confrère and their friend Le Clerc” (anonymous engraver of the time). He used to sign on the back the beautiful prints that passed through his hands. We see his signature accompanied by vintages varying from 1769 to 1810. He is probably from the family of Joseph Naudet, who was professor, and director of the Royal Library from 1840 to 1860 (http://www.marquesdecollections.fr/detail.cfm/marque/8618). NAUDET (vers 1800), marchand d'estampes, établi au Louvre, Paris. Estampes. Naudet est le marchand d'estampes qui figure parmi les convives du « Repas donné le 7 mars 1806 par les Mds d'Estampes de Paris, à leur Confrère et leur ami Le Clerc » (gravure anonyme du temps). Il avait l'habitude de signer au verso les belles estampes qui lui passaient par les mains. On voit sa signature accompagnée de millésimes variant de 1769 à 1810. Il est vraisemblablement de la famille de Joseph Naudet, qui fut professeur, et directeur de la Bibliothèque Royale de 1840 à 1860.
